Weekend Box Office: WEAPONS Returns to No. 1 While JAWS Re-Release Takes a Bite Out of Newcomers CAUGHT STEALING and THE ROSES

The 2025 summer season closed out with horror film "Weapons" back in first place at the box office over the Labor Day weekend. The 50th anniversary re-release of Steven Spielberg's iconic "Jaws" followed close behind while also scaring off new arrivals "Caught Stealing" and "The Roses", which underperformed. Meanwhile, the remake of the Troma classic "The Toxic Avenger" failed to make the Top 10.

Product Description: When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town.
