"The Mother and the Bear" is a Canada-Chile co-produced dramedy written and directed by Johnny Ma. The cast includes Kim Ho-jung, Leere Park, Lee Won-jae, Jonathan Kim, Amara Pedroso, Samantha Kendrick and Susan Hanson. The film premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in select theaters on January 2, 2026. It is now available on digital platforms.

"In snowy Winnipeg, Sumi (Leere Park) is hospitalized after a fall, prompting her mother Sara (Kim Ho-jung) to fly in from Seoul.
