As filming is underway on Guy Ritchie's upcoming action thriller "Viva La Madness", we now have the complete and official ensemble cast. Joining lead star Jason Statham are: Vinnie Jones ("Snatch", "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"), Jason Isaacs ("White Lotus", "Harry Potter" movies), Camila Mendes ("Riverdale", "Palm Springs"), Babs Olusanmokun ("Dune", "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare"), Ben Foster ("Motor City", "Hell or High Water"), Jonny Lee Miller ("The Crown", "Elementary"), and five-time Grammy-nominated and two-time Latin Grammy Award-winning artist Raúl Alejandro in his feature film debut.
The film is based on the novel of the same name from JJ Connolly, who also co-wrote the screenplay adaptation alongside Ritchie. Plot details are being kept under wraps. The novel "Viva La Madness" is a sequel to Connolly's debut novel "Layer Cake", which was previously adapted into the 2004 film "Layer Cake" starring Daniel Craig, however, Ritchie's film is a standalone original adaptation, not a continuation of any previous work.
"Viva La Madness" was developed by Statham for Punch Palace Productions and Thomas Benski for Lumina Studios, who are producing alongside Ritchie and Ivan Atkinson for Toff Guy Films and John Friedberg for Black Bear. Black Bear will distribute the film domestically, while Amazon MGM Studios will distribute it in the majority of international territories. Black Bear previously collaborated with Statham on the action thriller "Shelter".
