Product Description: Salt Lake Alley are an indie pop band from Stockholm, Sweden, devoted practitioners of what they affectionately call orthodox indie pop--a jangly, heartfelt, melody-driven tradition rooted in the spirit of classic independent guitar music.
The band began as a duo formed by Gustav Tranback (Paper Hearts, Dismal Plight) and Mikael Carlsson (The Honeydrips, Dorotea), two longtime contributors to Sweden's indie underground. Early on, their collaboration revolved around crisp guitars, bright hooks, and an earnest melodic sensibility that quickly resonated with the international indie pop community.
Salt Lake Alley later expanded into a full four-piece with the addition of Fredrik Jalker (Boa Constrictor) and Thomas Aherne (The Garlands), a lineup that enriched their sound with added texture, depth, and harmonic interplay. Their influences span a lineage of iconic guitar-pop innovators--Felt, Orange Juice, Teenage Fanclub, Popsicle, McCarthy, and The Wedding Present--all of which echo through their shimmering arrangements and bittersweet lyricism.
With two albums already establishing them as a reliable source of pristine jangle-pop, Salt Lake Alley now enter their next chapter. Their third album, Always Out Of Time, will be released on March 6th, continuing their mission to craft timeless, melody-forward indie pop that feels both reverent and refreshingly alive.
