"Youngblood" is a Canadian sports drama directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Hubert Davis (short film "Hardwood") from a script by Charles Officer, Josh Epstein, Kyle Rideout and Seneca Aaron based on the 1986 film of the same name which starred Rob Lowe, Cynthia Gibb and Patrick Swayze.

The new film follows Detroit hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood (Ashton James) as he joins the Hamilton Mustangs, where his pride and prowess are tested. The cast also includes Blair Underwood, Shawn Doyle, Alexandra McDonald, Oluniké Adeliyi, Henri Richer-Picard and Emidio Lopes. The film premiered at the 2025 TIFF, and opened in select theaters in the US on March 6, 2026. On March 24th it was released on digital platforms.

"Driven by his father's brutal code, hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood leaves Detroit to join Canada's Hamilton Mustangs, where his elite skill makes him a standout, but his arrogance creates enemies and keeps him benched. He finds guidance from his captain and the coach's daughter, but when the captain is injured, Dean faces a crucial showdown at the playoffs-and a choice between himself or the team."
