Recommendations From Iwamoto Senpai Anime Series Trailers Clips Images Posters

"Recommendations from Iwamoto-senpai" is a new anime series based on the Japanese manga series "Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen" written and illustrated by Hiroshi Shiibashi. The manga was originally published as a one-shot on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ manga service in March 2020, and in 2021 began serialization in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Ultra Jump.

The anime is directed by Toshifumi Kawase ("Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii") at Studio DEEN, with series composition by Keiichiro Ochi ("Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!"), character designs by Atsuko Nakajima ("Komi Can't Communicate") and music by Yoshiki Dewa ("Hell's Paradise") and Toru Ishitsuka.

The opening theme song is "Budding" performed by The Jet Boy Bangerz (part of the Exile Tribe collective), while the ending theme song is "Koko ni Iru" ("I Am Here"), performed by Wolf Howl Harmony (also part of Exile Tribe). The voice cast includes Kodo Iwamoto, Kai Haramachi, Soichiro Amaha, Bokyo Kizujo, Oni Okuaki, Shizuma Aonuma, Ryu Sazame and Mizuhi Awadama.

"Recommendations from Iwamoto-senpai" premiered on July 4, 2026 and streams on Crunchyroll.

"1910s, Japan. A town with mysterious black snow. Kodo Iwamoto, a student at a military school dedicated to studying the paranormal, is sent to investigate. There, he meets a boy who believes he's sick, but Kodo recognizes the illness as something else: supernatural abilities. Kodo recruits the boy to the school and sets off across the country, chasing mysteries and searching for others like him."
