Product Description: Legendary bluesman Keb’ Mo’ relied on just a few elements for his 2026 LP, The Breakdown. All that’s here is his voice, guitar, and vocals from two vocal groups: the Soweto Gospel Choir and Take 6. That’s all Keb’ needs to tell one of his most profound stories to date, examining his life following heart surgery and the ending of a marriage. In a changing world, where does Keb’ Mo’ fit in? Despite the upheaval, he’s still making space for his beautiful songwriting.

“Every Step of the Way” showcases the inimitable power of his guitar-playing and vocal delivery, as he sings of pain’s bitterness. Despite the struggles, he’s “still standing tall,” and “the day keeps on dawning.” It’s a tale of perseverance, which he encapsulates on the powerful album closer “One Day Away,” a powerful reflection on how beautiful this life can be. “You may be closer than you think to your miracle,” he sings. It’s easy to believe him.
