Dog lovers are in for a treat this weekend as the family adventure film "A Dog's Way Home" has been released in theaters. The film is not the sequel to 2017's "A Dog's Purpose" but it is based on another one of author W. Bruce Cameron's books. The actual sequel is titled "A Dog's Journey" and will be released on May 17, 2019.
Another new wide release is "The Upside" starring Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston, a remake of the French film "The Intouchables". The film premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, but ended up being shelved by The Weinstein Company last year after the Harvey Weinstein scandal, and was ultimately acquired by STX Entertainment and Lantern Entertainment.
If you're into silly sci-fi flicks, you might want to check out Keanu Reeves in "Replicas", which will probably end up as the first disaster of 2019. For fans of biopics, the Ruth Bader Ginsburg movie "On the Basis of Sex", starring Felicity Jones, has expanded nationwide.
