weekend-box-office-the-upside

"Aquaman" is no longer the #1 film at the box-office, and its place at the top has been taken by the long-delayed dramedy "The Upside". "A Dog's Way Home" opened according to expectations, which isn't so bad, but the Keanu Reeves sci-fi thriller "Replicas" failed to make it into the Top 10.

in-theaters-a-dogs-way-home-the-upside-replicas-on-the-basis-of-sex

Dog lovers are in for a treat this weekend as the family adventure film "A Dog's Way Home" has been released in theaters. The film is not the sequel to 2017's "A Dog's Purpose" but it is based on another one of author W. Bruce Cameron's books. The actual sequel is titled "A Dog's Journey" and will be released on May 17, 2019.

Another new wide release is "The Upside" starring Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston, a remake of the French film "The Intouchables". The film premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, but ended up being shelved by The Weinstein Company last year after the Harvey Weinstein scandal, and was ultimately acquired by STX Entertainment and Lantern Entertainment.

If you're into silly sci-fi flicks, you might want to check out Keanu Reeves in "Replicas", which will probably end up as the first disaster of 2019. For fans of biopics, the Ruth Bader Ginsburg movie "On the Basis of Sex", starring Felicity Jones, has expanded nationwide.

"A Dog's Way Home" is a family adventure film directed by Charles Martin Smith ("Dolphin Tale") based on the novel of the same name by W. Bruce Cameron. Cameron also penned the script alongside Cathryn Michon. This film is not a sequel to "A Dog's Purpose", which is also based on one of Cameron's novels. The sequel is titled "A Dog's Journey" and it's scheduled for release on May 17th.

The film tells the story of a dog named Bella (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), that embarks on a 400-mile journey home after she is separated from her owner. The cast also features Jonah Hauer-King, Ashley Judd, Edward James Olmos, Alexandra Shipp and Wes Studi.

"A Dog's Way Home" opened in theaters on January 11, 2019 and received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics.
