Jenna Ortega in Talks to Star in Tim Burton's BEETLEJUICE 2

"Scream" and "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega is in negotiations to join the cast of Tim Burton's sequel "Beetlejuice 2". Burton executive produced "Wednesday" and directed four of its eight episodes.

The sequel has been in the works at Warner Bros. for some time. Brad Pitt's production company Plan B joined the project in February of last year. Various sources also indicate that Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are expected to reprise their roles. Burton will direct. If the deal goes through, Ortega would play the daughter of Lydia, the character played by Ryder in the original.

The 1988 "Beetlejuice" also starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O'Hara. It grossed $74 million in North America against a budget of $15 million. It won an Academy Award for Best Makeup.

Production is expected to start late May or early June in London.
