Peter Hujars Day Criterion Premieres New On Dvd And Bluray

Product Description: A loving snapshot of a vanished New York, director Ira Sachs’s captivating cultural time capsule is a warm, witty, graceful re-creation of a real-life conversation that took place between photographer Peter Hujar (Ben Whishaw) and writer Linda Rosenkrantz (Rebecca Hall) in 1974. Peter Hujar’s Day eavesdrops on the two friends’ leisurely, affectionate hangout as Hujar recounts his previous day’s activities, offering insights into both his art and his everyday life. What emerges is a touching celebration of creativity, connection, and simply being present, made exceptionally vivid by Sachs’s cinematic flourishes and wonderfully tender performances from Whishaw and Hall, whose chemistry gives the film its heart and soul.

Ben Whishaw to Star in THIS IS GOING TO HURT for AMC and BBC
Golden Globe and Emmy winner Ben Whishaw ("A Very English Scandal", "Cloud Atlas") has been cast as the lead in the BBC Two-AMC co-production "This is Going to Hurt", based on Adam Kay's memoir of the same. Lucy Forbes ("The End of the F***ing World") has also signed on as lead director. Kay created the series, and he's also adapting his own book and serving as an executive producer.

The eight-episode series hails from production companies Sister ("Chernobyl") and Terrible Productions. Whishaw will play a fictional version of Kay, who is working his way through the ranks of hospital hierarchy – junior enough to suffer the crippling hours, but senior enough to face a constant barrage of terrifying responsibilities. The series sees him clinging to his personal life as he is increasingly overwhelmed by stresses at work: the 97-hour weeks, the life and death decisions, and all the while knowing the hospital parking meter is earning more than him.

Whishaw is also set to appear in the upcoming fourth season of "Fargo". The show's premiere, however, has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here's what Whishaw had to say about the project:
"I am proud to join this exciting adaptation of Adam Kay's terrific book This Is Going to Hurt based on his experiences working in the NHS. It's an honest, hilarious, heart-breaking look at the great institution and the army of unsung heroes who work there under the most stressful conditions. The COVID-19 crisis has now shed even more light on their great work and underlines the necessity to support the NHS and its workers. I look forward to telling this story with director Lucy Forbes and the great team at Sister to bring Adam's words to life and I am really grateful to be a part of it.".

mary-poppins-returns-trailers-tv-spots-clips-featurettes-images-and-posters

Directed by "Chicago" and "Into the Woods" helmer Rob Marshall, the fantasy musical "Mary Poppins Returns" is a sequel to Disney's 1964 classic "Mary Poppins", based on the book series of the same name by P.L. Travers. The 54 years passed between the first film and the sequel make it one of the longest gaps in cinematic history.

The sequel is set in 1930s London, twenty-five years after the events of the original film, as magical nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) returns to help the now-grown up Banks children, Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane (Emily Mortimer), navigate a difficult time in their lives. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Pixie Davies, Nathaniel Saleh, Joel Dawson, Julie Walter, Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury, Meryl Streep and Dick Van Dyke co-star.

The film is nominated for four Golden Globe awards, including Actress - Musical/Comedy (Blunt), Actor - Musical/Comedy (Miranda), Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy, and Score. Blunt also received a Screen Actors Guild nomination, and the National Board of Review chose the film as one of the year's Top Ten films.

"Mary Poppins Returns" opened in theaters on December 19, 2018 and received mostly positive reviews from critics. The film brought in $50 million for the seven-day Christmas total.
