Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's profound portrait of a conflicted man, played by Javier Bardem, gets a DVD/Blu-Ray release. Nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Foreign Picture and Best Leading Actor, the film is ponderous and a bit overlong (almost 2 1/2 hours), but through Bardem's confident, sensitive performance, it finds the right way to the audience's heart. Not exactly Inarritu's best, but certainly an improvement over his uneven and self-important "Babel", and definitely a significant and thought-provoking film. Available on DVD and Blu-Ray with some basic Special Features.
