alien-covenant-teaser-trailer-and-poster

It's been a difficult wait, but 20th Century Fox has finally released the first trailer for Ridley Scott's "Alien: Covenant", the upcoming installment in the "Alien" franchise, and a follow-up to Scott's "Prometheus".

The trailer is wonderfully mysterious and doesn't lay out the plot from start to finish like most other blockbuster trailers, but instead relies on atmosphere, a great choice of music, and a decent amount of gore to start with. The film chronicles the adventures of the colony ship Covenant's crew as they discover what they think is an uncharted paradise. The planet is, as it turns out, a much darker and dangerous place than any of them could have imagined.

It's not exactly explained, but the synopsis also mentions that the crew discover the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition, but we'll have to wait and see how he got there, and where is the other survivor from the previous film, Elizabeth Shaw. We know for a fact Shaw will make an appearance, because Noomi Rapace is confirmed to star in this film, but it could just be a flashback of sorts. And, yes, everyone's favorite xenomorph will be in this film, as confirmed by the final moments of the trailer.

The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Carmen Ejogo, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Callie Hernandez and Guy Pearce.

"Alien: Covenant" will open in theaters on May 19th, 2017.

blair-witch-2016-trailers-images-and-posters

One of the biggest surprises of 2016 is the existence of this new installment in the "Blair Witch" franchise. The film was shot under the title "The Woods", and even two of the first posters used that title, in order to preserve the closely guarded secret that this was actually a sequel to the found-footage classic.

Directed by Adam Wingard ("You're Next", "The Guest") from a script by Simon Barrett, the film follows a group of college students who venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to search for James Donahue's sister Heather, the protagonist of the first film who disappeared while investigating the legend of the Blair Witch.

The cast features James Allen McCune, Callie Hernandez, Corbin Reid, Brandon Scott, Wes Robinson and Valorie Curry.

"Blair Witch" opens in theaters on September 16th.
