The fifth season of the medical drama series "Chicago Med" has premiered on September 25, 2019 on NBC. The third installment in the Chicago series was created by Dick Wolf ("Law & Order") and Matt Olmstead, and it focuses on the emergency department at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center and on its doctors and nurses as they work to save patients' lives.
The cast features Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Brian Tee, Torrey DeVitto, Colin Donnell, Marlyne Barrett and Oliver Platt. A crossover between "Chicago Fire", "Chicago Med", and "Chicago P.D." will happen later in the season.
