The ninth season of the medical drama series "Chicago Med" has premiered on January 17, 2024 on NBC. This is the third installment in Dick Wolf's Chiacgo franchise, and it stars Marlyne Barrett, Dominic Rains, Jessy Schram, S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt and Steven Weber. Australian actor Luke Mitchell joins the new season as Dr. Mitch Ripley, an Emergency Department doctor who shares a history with Dr. Charles. Because of the WGA strike, which delayed the release of the new season, the new installment will only feature 13 episodes.
