Weekend Box-Office: SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Tanks With $30.5 Million Debut

"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" landed in theaters this weekend and bombed pretty hard, falling well below the original film's debut. Still, this is old DCEU, not the new DCEU spearheaded by James Gunn and Peter Safran, so this might be blowback from the fandom for the confusing state the DC cinematic universe is currently in.

Weekend Box-Office: SCREAM VI Opens With Franchise Best $44.5 Million

In the battle of the sequels, "Scream VI" knocked out "Creed III" to dominate the box-office this weekend, but the champ is still in pretty good shape. The sci-fi action thriller "65" also opened this week and performed well enough. The sports comedy "Champions" starring Woody Harrelson, however, couldn't find its audience.

Weekend Box-Office: CREED III Opens With Franchise-Best $58 Million

The boxing drama "Creed III" set new records for the spinoff series and sports movies in general when it opened over the weekend. The film managed to knock out "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" which continues its worrying decline. Crunchyroll's anime "Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village" also opened this week and made it into the Top 5.

CREED III (2023) - Trailers, Featurettes, Images and Posters

"Creed III" is a sports drama directed by Michael B. Jordan in his feature directorial debut from a script by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin. The film is the third installment in the "Rocky" spinoff series starring Jordan in the lead role. The cast also includes Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu and Phylicia Rashad. The film opened in theaters on March 3, 2023.
