Written and directed by Fatih Akin ("Goodbye Berlin"), the German drama "In the Fade" stars Diane Kruger ("Inglourious Basterds") as a woman whose life collapses when her husband Nuri and little son Rocco are killed in a bomb attack. Denis Moschitto, Numan Acar, Ulrich Tukur, Johannes Krisch and Samia Chancrin also star. Queens of the Stone Age lead singer Josh Homme composed the film's original score.
The film won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actress (Kruger) at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for the Palme d'Or. In December it was announced that the film made it onto the Academy Awards shortlist, but it failed to secure a nomination.
"In the Fade" premiered in Germany on November 23, 2017 and in the U.S in select theaters on December 27.
