Killers 1996 New On Bluray Unrated Directors Cut Special Edition

Product Description: Once upon a time, the James Brothers, Odessa (Dave Larsen) and Kyle (David Gunn, VAMPIRE JOURNALS), murdered their parents in their own beds. Now they've escaped from Death Row and are on the run on a stormy night, looking for a place to hide out. They invade the home of the Ryans, who seem like a typical American family and should be easy to control. But there's something not quite right about this brood--the women seem more attracted than frightened by these notorious murderers in their house, and Dad (C.T. Miller) has secrets of his own. Things get violently out of hand as the James boys find the night not going as they expected...and there are even more surprises waiting in the basement! The directorial debut of modern cult-favorite filmmaker Mike Mendez (BIG ASS SPIDER!, THE CONVENT), KILLERS is a highly stylized crime/horror hybrid that also puts a darkly satiric spin on America's obsession with violent perpetrators. After a brutal, hypnotic opening set to Iron Butterfly's "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida," the script by lead actor Larsen and Mendez begins as a traditional hostage drama, before the twisted nature of the James brothers' "hosts" starts to reveal itself. It all leads to eruptions of gunfire and gore, and a shocking finale that was toned down in previous releases; now it can be seen in its full uncut glory in the unrated director's cut, available for the first time on disc in high-definition!

Product Description: Sexy Frenchy (Marie-Pascale Elfman) falls into an insane underworld ruled by a horny little king (Hervé Villechaize, "Fantasy Island") and his jealous queen (Susan Tyrell, Angel). Chicken-boy comes to the rescue, only to have his head cut off by a soul-singing Satan himself (played by Danny Elfman), along with The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. Frog butlers, topless princesses and rioting school kids all sing and dance in unforgettable musical numbers performed by Danny Elfman, Cab Calloway, Josephine Baker and more in this timeless cult classic comedy-musical-fantasy of epic proportions!

FROM WRITER / DIRECTOR RICHARD ELFMAN: “Forbidden Zone is an absurdist fever-dream with hundreds of crazy, cartoonish images that spewed volcano-like from my crazy clown-brain. Going back to the first test screening in 1980, there a few images I wished to change but had lost control of the film by then. Well, with technology and some cool special FX friends, I’m finally able to fix things the way I wanted… forty years later. Yes, life is strange! I hope you enjoy the director’s cut of FORBIDDEN ZONE.”

tom-sachs-a-space-program-directors-cut-new-on-bluray

Product Description: In A Space Program, presented in its definitive Director’s Cut, internationally acclaimed artist Tom Sachs takes us on an intricately handmade journey to the red planet, providing audiences with an intimate, first-person look into his studio and methods. The film is both a piece of art in its own right and a recording of Sachs’ historic piece, Space Program 2.0: MARS, which opened at NYC’s Park Avenue Armory in 2012. For Space Program 2.0: MARS, Tom and his team built an entire space program from scratch. They were guided by the philosophy of bricolage: creating and constructing from available yet limited resources. They ultimately sent two female astronauts to Mars in search of the answer to humankind’s ultimate question…are we alone? This special Blu-ray edition also includes the theatrical cut of the feature and seven short films by Tom Sachs and Van Neistat.

nightbreed-directors-cut-dvd-blu-ray

Product Description: For the first time on home video, you can experience Clive Barker’s original director’s cut of Nightbreed with over 40 minutes of new footage, all mastered in high definition from the original camera negative!

Boone (Craig Sheffer) may be a troubled young man, but his troubles are just beginning. Set up as the fall guy in a string of slasher murders, he decides he’ll hide by crossing the threshold that separates ’us’from ’them’and sneak into the forbidden subterranean realm of Midian. Boone will live among the monsters.

Hellraiser creator Clive Barker writes (adapting his novel Cabal) and directs this vivid leap into horror that asks: in the battle of man vs. monster, who’s really the monster? The answer supplies flesh-crawling suspense, sudden fear, a colorful Danny Elfman score and a creepy array of shape-shifting beings. They are the Nightbreed, denizens of a world beyond death, beyond the imagination, perhaps beyond anything you’ve seen.

once-upon-a-time-in-america-extended-directors-cut-blu-ray

Product Description: Though some viewers might be put off by its length, graphic violence, and absence of likable characters, Sergio Leone's final film is also a cinematic masterpiece. Spanning four decades, the film tells the story of David "Noodles" Aaronson (Robert De Niro) and his Jewish pals, chronicling their childhoods on New York's Lower East Side in the 1920s, through their gangster careers in the 1930s, and culminating in Noodles' 1968 return to New York from self-imposed exile, at which time he learns the truth about the fate of his friends and again confronts the nightmare of his past. The acting, the re-creation of the time period, the cinematography, and the music are all superb. However, even more important is Leone's ability to make the film work on so many different levels: it's both a criticism of gangster-film mythology and a continuation of the director's exploration of the issues of time and history. Strange as it may seem, the violence and gore in the first half of the film turn into a sad elegy about wasted lives and lost love. The film's strengths emerge only in its full 229-minute version -- the 139-minute and other edited versions don't make nearly the same impact. (Yuri German, Rovi)

Starring: Robert De Niro, James Woods, Joe Pesci, Jennifer Connelly, Elizabeth McGovern, Burt Young

Running Time: 269 min

Rating: R for strong violence, sexual content, language and some drug use
