DIRTY JOHN Season 2 - The Betty Broderick Story - Trailers, Clip, Images and Posters

The second season of the true crime series "Dirty John" has premiered on June 2, 2020 on USA Network, where the show has moved after airing its first season on Bravo. The series was created by Alexandra Cunningham, who also writes and executive produces.

Titled "Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story", the second season focuses on Betty Broderick (Amanda Peet) and her relationship with her future ex-husband Dan (Christian Slater), which spans the 1960s to the '80s. The breakdown of their marriage was deemed by Oprah as one of "America's messiest divorces" ... even before it ended in double homicide.

• The Quibi web series "Survive" starring Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins. The series is directed by Mark Pellington ("The Mothman Prophecies")
• HBO's limited series "I Know This Much Is True" starring Mark Ruffalo, Melissa Leo, Rosie O'Donnell, Imogen Poots and Archie Panjabi. The miniseries is directed by Derek Cianfrance ("Blue Valentine", "The Place Beyond the Pines").
• Hulu's new eight-episode animated comedy series "Solar Opposites" from Justin Roiland, the co-creator of "Rick and Morty".
• The second season of the horror comedy series "What We Do in the Shadows" based on Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi's cult mockumentary of the same name.
• Netflix's new comedy series "#blackAF" from Kenya Barris ("Black-ish").

Amanda Peet, Christian Slater to Star on DIRTY JOHN Season 2

The second season of the true crime anthology series "Dirty John" is moving forward with Amanda Peet ("Brockmire", "Togetherness") and Christian Slater ("Mr. Robot") in the lead roles. The show will be moving from Bravo to USA Network, and it is co-produced with Netflix.

Titled "Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story", the new season will be based on "another epic true tale of love gone wrong — a story that spans the 1960s to the '80s, through the breakdown of a marriage that Oprah deemed one of 'America's messiest divorces' even before it ended in double homicide."

Peet will star as Betty Broderick, the perfect Southern California blonde wife and mother married to her handsome college boyfriend Dan (Slater). After years of sacrifice and suffering while supporting Dan through both medical and law school until he exploded into the San Diego legal community as a superstar, Betty is finally enjoying the fruits of their labors. That is, until Dan hires Linda, a bright, beautiful young woman with whom he can happily forget the struggles of his past.

Season 2 is currently in production in Los Angeles, and episodes will be directed by Maggie Kiley ("Riverdale"), Kat Candler ("Queen Sugar"), Meera Menon ("The Terror"), Shannon Kohli ("The Magicians") and series creator/writer Alexandra Cunningham, who will be making her directorial debut. Jessica Rhoades ("The Affair") is also on board as executive producer.

"The first season of ‘Dirty John’ was a story of twisted love and coercive control – and both these insidious elements are also present in and integral to the story of Betty Broderick, whom I have wanted to write about since I became a writer."

"Dirty John" is a new true crime anthology series created by "Desperate Housewives" writer and producer Alexandra Cunningham based on the podcast of the same name by Christopher Goffard. The first season tells the story of how a romance with the charismatic John Meehan (Eric Bana) spiraled into secrets, denial, manipulation, and ultimately, survival – with horrific consequences for an entire family. The cast also includes Connie Britton, Julia Garner, Juno Temple and Jean Smart.

"Dirty John" is set to premiere on November 25, 2018 on Bravo at 10p. The series has received mixed reviews from critics.

Connie Britton to Star in Bravo Anthology Series DIRTY JOHN

"American Horror Story" and "Nashville" star Connie Britton is set to star in the upcoming anthology drama series "Dirty John". Developed for Bravo, the true crime series' first season is based on a series of articles published by the Los Angeles Times about con man John Meehan, and his relationship with Debra Newell (Britton), a single mother who fell for him after meeting him on an over-50 dating site. Their romance quickly spiraled out of control with shocking consequences for Debra and her children.

The script will be written by "Chance" creator Alexandra Cunningham, whose writing credits also include episodes of "Desperate Housewives", "Bates Motel" and "Aquarius". There is also a docu series in the works about Meehan's case from Oxygen Media. The show's second season will focus on an entirely different story that has yet to be determined.

Britton currently stars in the Fox series "9-1-1" created by Brad Falchuk, Tim Minear and Ryan Murphy. On the big screen she can be seen in the dramedy "The Land of Steady Habits" opposite Ben Mendelsohn, and the drama "Mustang" alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, both due for release sometime this year.
