Product Description: One of the greatest British war films ever made, The Cruel Sea is an unflinching portrayal of life at sea during WWII, on a boat tasked with protecting convoys and seeking and destroying German U-boats. Filmed aboard an actual Royal Navy corvette, it tells the story of the sailors aboard the HMS Compass Rose: the bonds that form between them, the daily pressures they face, and their epic struggle to overcome the enemy. Based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Monsarrat, and featuring heroic performances from Jack Hawkins, Sir Donald Sinden, and Stanley Baker, The Cruel Sea is an enduring war movie classic.
