Bethesda revealed the gameplay trailer and footage for the fourth
"Doom" game at its E3 conference. The trailer shows off the game's new idTech 6 engine and its simple, yet effective principles: run, aim, kill, pick up powerups. The latter still looks a little weird to me, but it's true to the game's roots. The gameplay footage displayed also showcased the multiplayer which will take place in arenas rangin from UAC facilities to the depths of hell. The online game modes will include "Domination", "Freeze Tag" and "Clan Arena". It was also announced that
"Doom" will feature modding tools built into the game which will be a
"a custom designed gateway to an endless stream of Doom experiences created by you." The game's story is as shallow as ever, simply giving the player an excuse to blow demons away using the usual array of weapons which will include a heavy assault rifle, super shotgun, plasma rifle and the fan-favorite chainsaw.
"Doom" will be released in Spring 2016.
