Probably nobody saw this coming, but the R-rated comedy "Neighbors" unseated "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" as last weekend's box-office champion. The frat flick starring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne picked up $51 million domestically and $34 million overseas, an amazing result for the $18 million movie. Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" fell sharlpy in its second weekend and managed to gross $37 million. The superhero blockbuster has nothing to worry about, though, as its worldwide total stands at $550 million.
The week's other new wide releases, the comedy "Mom's Night Out" and the animated feature "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return" scored modest box-office results and placed 7th and 8th, respectively, in the weekend's top 10.
