Million Dollar Legs 1932 New On Bluray

Product Description: W.C. Fields plays the President of Klopstokia, a bankrupt European country that makes a bid for fame and fortune by entering its top athletes in the 1932 Summer Games in Los Angeles. Directed by Edward Cline (The Bank Dick, 1940) and co-written by Joseph L. Mankiewicz (All About Eve, 1950), this madcap, Pre-Code comedy is one of W.C. Fields's most anarchic satires and includes scene stealing performances by comic character actors Jack Oakie, Billy Gilbert, Hugh Herbert and Ben Turpin.

my-little-chickadee-1940-new-on-bluray

Product Description: The inimitable Mae West (Klondike Annie) portrays the voluptuous Flower Belle Lee, whose reputation is tarnished when she is seen embracing a masked bandit in her bedroom. Forced to leave town until she can prove she is respectable―and married―Flower Belle boards a train where she meets the incorrigible Cuthbert J. Twillie (W.C. Fields, Running Wild). Believing he’s quite a catch, Flower Belle accepts Twillie’s marriage proposal. The newlyweds stop in the town of Greasewood where Twillie’s exaggerated tales of adventure earn him the honor of becoming the sheriff of the town and bartender at “The Last Gasp” saloon. My Little Chickadee was written by its legendary stars Mae West and W.C. Fields, with wonderful direction by Edward F. Cline (Never Give a Sucker an Even Break).

never-give-a-sucker-an-even-break-1941-new-on-bluray

Product Description: In his last starring role, comedy legend W.C. Fields (It’s a Gift, My Little Chickadee, The Bank Dick) plays himself in a takeoff on the eccentricities of filmmaking. It’s a harum-scarum collection of song, slapstick and thumbnail sketches, the likes of which defy dramatic law! The focus of the story is on Fields’ presentation of an imaginative script for a new picture at Esoteric Pictures, Inc. The script turns out to be a vehicle for himself—a hero who makes Superman look like a wimp. It’s a Fields-day on a vaudeville bill, with the bulbous-nosed star in every act! In one he is a Russian mujik sampling fermented goat’s milk; elsewhere he drops 2,000 feet from a cliff; in another he goes a-wooing in a tailcoat requiring two flunkies to carry the tails. He even embarks on a frantic car chase, in vintage Keystone Cops style. The mayhem was staged by the great Edward F. Cline, the director of many classic Buster Keaton shorts and features, including One Week, Convict 13, The Haunted House, The Boat and Three Ages.
