box-office-exodus-gods-and-kings

The time has come for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" to pass the crown. This weekend, the charts were topped by Ridley Scott's somewhat controversial Biblical epic "Exodus: Gods and Kings". The film grossed $24.5 million over a pretty quiet weekend and managed to secure an additional $49.8 million from foreign markets. However, the film's expensive pricetag ($140 million), also means that it will have to keep performing well over the next few week.

This weekend's other major release, Chris Rock's debut as a writer and director, "Top Five", opened in fourth place with $7.2 million from 979 theaters. The film will continue to expand in more locations and the positive buzz could built it up into a box-office hit.

New Wide Releases: "Exodus: Gods and Kings", "Top Five".

Biggest Drop : "Horrible Bosses 2" (-45%)

Smallest Drop : "The Theory of Everything" (-4.6%)

Exodus Gods and Kings Movie Clips

Four clips have been released for Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings". The Biblical epic opens today in theaters but reviews so far have been extremely harsh. While the movie isn't lacking in the visual department and the actors give it their best, Scott has been accused of focusing too much on visual effects and not enough on characters and narrative, which seems to have led to the creation of a very thin epic. The film stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Mendelsohn and John Turturro.

exodus-gods-and-kings-thanksgiving-trailer-featurettes

A new trailer for Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" was released on Thanksgiving, and just to make sure that everyone knows this movie is EPIC, 20th Century Fox released a total of 8 behind-the-scenes featurettes that pretty much highlight every aspect of the massive production. I guess they just revealed all the Blu-Ray extras. The film stars Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses. They are joined in supporting roles by Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Mendelsohn and John Turturro.

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 12th.

exodus-gods-and-kings-character-posters

Three new posters have been released for Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings". The Biblical epic chronicles the story of Moses (Christian Bale) and his rise against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton). The posters highlight the conflict between the two, but I'm a little disappointed at how ordinary they look. I'm sure a movie this big could afford better posters. The cast also features Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro.

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 12th.

exodus-gods-and-kings-new-trailer

The second theatrical trailer for Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" is now online. The epic story of Moses (Christian Bale) and his rise against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton) will indeed be a jaw-dropping spectacle as suggested in this new trailer. Everything from the sets and costumes to the visual effects are amazing, but it also seems like we're going to get some solid performances as well, especially from Edgerton as Ramses. The film also stars Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro.

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 5th.

exodus-gods-and-kings-featurette

The first behind-the-scenes featurette for Ridley Scott's "Exodus: Gods and Kings" has been released. The making of video offers a look at the production and it looks just as you would expect: epic. Of course, with Scott at the helm of a project like this, you won't get anything less than that. I just hope he can successfully tackle the religious aspects of the film. The film stars Christian Bale as Moses, the Old Testament prophet who rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton) and takes 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt. The cast also includes Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro.

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 5th.

First trailer for Exodus: Gods and Kings starring Christian Bale

The first trailer for Ridley Scott's Biblical epic "Exodus: Gods and Kings" has been released along with three posters and some new images. Christian Bale stars as Moses, the Old Testament prophet who rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton) and takes 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt. Of course, this looks more like Scott's "Gladiator" than Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments", and the synopsis takes great pride in mentioning that the film employs "state-of-the-art visual effects and 3D immersion" to tell the story.

While the director's modern visual style and the story's setting could be difficult to harmonize, I have faith that Ridley Scott is one of the few filmmakers who could pull it off. I'm a huge fan of "Kingdom of Heaven" (Director's Cut) and I hope I can add "Exodus" on my favorites list.

Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro also star. "Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 5th.

Exodus Gods and Kings Images

Five new images have been released for Ridley Scott's upcoming Biblical epic "Exodus: Gods and Kings" via Entertainment Weekly. The film is an account of the story of Moses, played by Christian Bale, and from the look of these pictures, it's going to be quite an epic portrayal. Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro also star. In his interview with EW, Bale spoke about Moses, saying that "He’s one of the most fascinating characters that I’ve ever studied. I think Achilles is described as the most passionate man alive but I think Moses would give him a very good run for his money."

"Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 5th.
