First Trailer and Images for EXTANT Starring Halle Berry

The first trailer and three new images have been released for the sci-fi series "Extant". Halle Berry stars as an astronaut who returns home from a year long solo mission in space and tries to reconnect with her husband and son in their everyday life. But, her experiences in space and home lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history. I've heard a lot of comparisons with "Gravity" when this trailer was released online, but really, it looks like the space mission will only be a small part of the series. I don't think that if any movie takes place in space, it should immediately be compared to "Gravity". The show is produced by Steven Spielberg and also stars Camryn Manheim, Goran Visnjic, Grace Gummer, Michael O’Neil and Hiroyuki Sanada.

"Extant" premieres on CBS Wednesday, July 9th.

Halle Berry to Star in New Steven Spielberg TV Series

Halle Berry will lead a new TV drama series produced by Steven Spielberg. The series is titled "Extant" and Berry will star as " an astronaut who returns home from a year-long solo mission in space and tries to reconnect with her husband and son in their everyday life. Her experiences in space and home lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history." The first season will have 13 episodes and will premiere in summer 2014 on CBS. Halle Berry has enjoyed some positive experiences with TV movies in the past. She won a Golden Globe for her performance in the HBO biopic "Dorothy Dandridge" in 1999 and in 2005 she was once again nominated for her role in ABC's "Their Eyes Were Watching God".
