Paul Dano To Star In Florian Zeller's Psychological Thriller BUNKER

Paul Dano ("There Will Be Blood", "The Batman") has joined the cast of the psychological thriller "Bunker" written and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Florian Zeller ("The Father", "The Son"). The film is currently in its second week of filming. Production is set in Madrid and London.

"Bunker" explores the unraveling of a family as a mysterious construction project — a bunker commissioned by a powerful tech mogul — begins to infiltrate their lives. The star-studded ensemble also includes Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Stephen Graham and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Blue Morning Pictures' Federica Sainte-Rose is producing alongside Fernando Bovaira and Simon de Santiago of MOD Producciones. Alice Dawson also serves as a producer on the film. Mariano Cohn, Gaston Duprat, Andres Duprat, Emanuel Nunez and Fernando Sokolowicz are executive producers. International sales are handled by FilmNation Entertainment with CAA Media Finance and WME Independent handling domestic rights.

"The Father" is a drama directed by Florian Zeller ("Florida") from a script he co-wrote alongside Christopher Hampton ("Atonement", "The Quiet American") based on Zeller's 2012 play "Le Pere".

Anthony Hopkins plays a man who refuses all assistance from his daughter (Olivia Colman) as he ages and begins to lose his grip on reality. Rufus Sewell, Imogen Poots, Mark Gatiss and Olivia Williams co-star.

The film received four nominations at the 78th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture (Drama), Actor (Hopkins), Supporting Actress (Colman) and Screenplay.

"The Father" premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. It opened in select theaters in the U.S. on February 26, 2021, and will be released in the U.K. on June 11, 2021.
