"Climax" is a French psychological horror film written, co-edited and directed by Gaspar Noe ("Irreversible"). The film follows a group of dancers who gather in a remote, empty school building to rehearse, but the all-night celebration turns into a hallucinatory nightmare as the dancers discover they've been pounding cups of sangria laced with potent LSD. The cast features real professional dancers and includes Sofia Boutella, Romain Guillermic, Kiddy Smile, Claude Gajan Maull, Souheila Yacoub, Giselle Palmer, Taylor Kastle and Thea Carla Schott.
"Climax" premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors' Fortnight section, where it won the C.I.C.A.E. Award, and was released in France on September 19, 2018. It opened in select theaters in the U.S. on March 1, 2019.
