Product Description: Indigenous Detective Jay Swan (Aaron Pedersen, Mystery Road) arrives in the frontier town of Goldstone on a missing persons inquiry. What seems like a simple investigation opens a web of crime, corruption, trampling of indigenous people's land rights, and human trafficking. Jay must pull his life together and bury his differences with young local cop Josh (Alex Russell, SWAT), so together they can bring justice to Goldstone. Also starring 2-time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook) as the corrupt mayor, David Wenham (Lord of the Rings) as the greedy mine director, David Gulpilil (Crocodile Dundee) as the indigenous man who can't be bought, and Cheng Pei-Pei (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) as the unscrupulous madam.

The 2016 Australian crime thriller "Goldstone" follows Indigenous Detective Jay Swan (Aaron Pedersen) who arrives in the titular frontier town on a missing persons case and ends up uncovering a web of crime, corruption, trampling of land rights and human trafficking.

Written, directed, shot and edited by Ivan Sen, the film is a sequel to Sen's 2013 mystery thriller "Mystery Road", which also featured Swan as a protagonist and starred Pedersen. Alex Russell, Jacki Weaver, David Wenham, Pei-Pei Cheng and Michelle Lim Davidson co-star.

"Goldstone" opened in Australia on July 7, 2016 and received a limited release in the U.S. on March 9, 2018. It received generally positive reviews from critics.

In Theaters: RED SPARROW, DEATH WISH, DANCE ACADEMY - THE MOVIE and GOLDSTONE

This week in theaters it's time for some ultra-violent R-rated fun. We have the sexy spy thriller "Red Sparrow" starring Jennifer Lawrence and the revenge thriller remake "Death Wish" starring Bruce Willis. None of these films have impressed critics, especially as American society is going through some turbulent times, but if you can leave your politics (and your brain) at the door, I'm sure there's fun to be had with these flicks.

In limited release you should check out "Dance Academy: The Movie" (also titled "Dance Academy: The Comeback"), the big screen follow-up to the TV show that ran from 2010 until 2013. Also released in select theaters is the Australian crime thriller "Goldstone".
