Written and directed by Bethany Ashton Wolf, the romantic drama "Forever My Girl" follows a country music super-star (Alex Roe) who returns to his hometown and faces the consequences of the love he left behind (Jessica Rothe).
The film is based on the book of the same name (The Beaumont Series) written by Heidi McLaughlin and it also stars Abby Ryder Fortson, Tyler Riggs, Peter Cambor and John Benjamin Hickey.
"Forever My Girl" opened in theaters on January 19, 2018 and received negative reviews from critics who complained about the usual soap-opera cliches and made unflattering comparisons to Nicholas Sparks movies. The film grossed $4.7 million from 1,115 theaters in its opening weekend.
