Weekend Box Office: A MINECRAFT MOVIE Explodes With Record-Breaking Debut

Theaters everywhere caught a breath of fresh air over the weekend with the best 3-day of 2025, so far, as the video game adaptation "A Minecraft Movie" surprised everyone with a record-breaking debut. Meanwhile, "The Chosen: Last Supper Part 2" and "Hell of a Summer" received semi-wide releases this weekend and made the Top 10.

HELL OF A SUMMER (2023) - Trailer, Clips, Images and Posters

"Hell of a Summer" is a horror comedy written and directed by Finn Wolfhard ("Stranger Things") and Billy Bryk. Produced by Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan ("American Gangster"), the film follows a group of counselors at a summer camp terrorized by a masked killer.

Wolfhard and Bryk also star alongside Fred Hechinger, Abby Quinn, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Pardis Saremi, Rosebud Baker and Adam Pally. "Hell of a Summer" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2023, and was released in theaters by Neon on April 4, 2025.
