New on Blu-ray: FACELESS (1987) Starring Helmut Berger, Brigitte Lahaie & Telly Savalas

BUY FROM AMAZON

Product Description: For his 1988 big-budget EuroSleaze classic inspired by EYES WITHOUT A FACE, director Jess Franco brought together an international all-star cast - including Helmut Berger (THE DAMNED), Brigitte Lahaie (THE FEMALE EXECUTIONER), Chris Mitchum (SUMMERTIME KILLER), Stéphane Audran (COUP DE TORCHON), Caroline Munro (MANIAC) and Telly Savalas - for a glossily depraved tale of disfigurement, dismemberment, libidinous brutes, Nazi surgeons, Parisian discos, face-ripping, throat-stabbing, eyeball-piercing and what may be Uncle Jess' most rewardingly ambiguous ending ever. Anton Diffring (CIRCUS OF HORRORS) and Florence Guérin (CALIGULA & MESSALINA) co-star - with appearances by Howard Vernon (THE AWFUL DR. ORLOFF) and Lina Romay - in this unapologetically graphic shocker, now scanned for the first time in 4K from the original negative with all-new Special Features.

New on Blu-ray: LUDWIG (1973) Starring Helmut Berger & Romy Schneider

BUY FROM AMAZON

Product Description: A string of masterpieces behind him – including Ossessione, Senso, The Leopard and Death in Venice – the great Italian director Luchino Visconti turned his attentions to the life and death of King Ludwig II of Bavaria in 1972, resulting in an epic of 19th-century decadence. Dominated by Helmut Berger (The Damned, The Bloodstained Butterfly) in the title role, Ludwig nevertheless manages to find room for an impressive cast list: Romy Schneider (reprising her Elisabeth of Austria characterisation from the Sissi trilogy), Silvana Mangano (Bitter Rice), Gert Fröbe (Goldfinger), John Moulder-Brown (Deep End) and Trevor Howard (Brief Encounter) as Richard Wagner. As opulent as any of Visconti’s epics – Piero Tosi’s costume design was nominated for an Academy Award – Ludwig is presented here in its complete form in accordance with the director’s wishes.

DVD & Blu-ray: LIBERTE (2019) Starring Helmut Berger & Marc Susini

BUY FROM AMAZON

Product Description: Just before the French Revolution, in a forest outside Berlin, a band of libertines expelled from the court of Louis XVI rendezvous with the legendary German seducer and freethinker, the Duc de Walchen (Helmut Berger), to convince him to join in their mission: the rejection of authority and all moral boundaries. What begins as an evening of strategizing on the proliferation of libertinage, descends into a Sadean night of pansexual one-upmanship. Liberté is a singular cinematic experience only Albert Serra could deliver, a film in which increasingly dramatic acts of pain and pleasure unfold in counterpoint to cinematographer Artur Tort s luminous images of moonlit sylvan spaces. As Serra and his committed team of regular performers and newcomers "open the gates of Hell" and explore the limits of the erotic imagination, you won t be able to look away.
