The thriller "Berlin Syndrome" tells the story of an Australian photojournalist (Teresa Palmer) backpacking around Germany who has a one-night stand with a handsome stranger (Max Riemelt), but finds herself a captive in his Berlin apartment as the holiday romance transforms into dangerous obsession.
Directed by Cate Shortland ("Lore") and based on the novel of the same name written by Melanie Joosten, the film also stars Lucie Aron, Cem Tuncay and Matthias Habich.
"Berlin Syndrome" premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and opened in select theaters in the U.S. on May 26th, 2017. The film received generally positive reviews.
