Diane Kruger Kiernan Shipka Swimming With Sharks

Diane Kruger ("Inglourious Basterds") and Kiernan Shipka ("Chilling Adventures of Sabrina") have signed on to star in Quibi's upcoming drama series "Swimming With Sharks" from Lionsgate. The show will be a contemporary update of the 1994 film of the same name that starred Kevin Spacey and Frank Whaley.

Directed by Tucker Gates ("The Morning Show", "Homeland") from a script by Kathleen Robertson ("Murder in the First"), the series follows Lou (Shipka), a young female assistant, who works for Joyce (Kruger), a sole female studio head, at a company filled with manipulators, schemers and intrigue. But little do they know Lou is poised to outwit them all.

Dana Brunetti, Spacey's former producing partner, and Liz Destro will serve as executive producers alongside Jay Cohen and Stephen Israel, who produced the film. A release date has not been set.

Kruger can next be seen in Universal's spy thriller "355" opposite Jessica Chastain and Lupita N'yongo, which is set for a 2021 release.

Kiefer Sutherland to Star in Quibi's THE FUGITIVE Adaptation
Kiefer Sutherland has signed on to star in mobile-only streaming service Quibi's upcoming adaptation of "The Fugitive". First announced in July, the series is a reimagining of the 1993 film of the same name starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, which in turn was based on the TV show of the same name that ran between 1963 and 1967.

Sutherland will star as Detective Clay Bryce, a grizzled, well-respected Los Angeles cop leading an investigation into Mike Ferro, played by "Logan" star Boyd Holbrook, a blue-collar worker who is incorrectly, and very publicly, blamed for a bomb that destroys a subway train.

The series will be written by Nick Santora, who is best known for creating "The Scorption" at CBS, and directed by Stephen Hopkins ("Race", "Predator 2"). Santora, Basil Iwanyk, Tom Lassally and Albert Torres will executive produce, and production is expected to begin in October.

Quibi shows will only be available on mobile devices, with each episode running no longer than 10 minutes. The app will cost viewers $4.99 per month for ad-supported viewing, or run $7.99 for ad-free viewing.

Naomi Watts to Star in Jason Blum-Produced Series WOLVES AND VILLAGERS
Academy Award nominated actress Naomi Watts has signed on to lead the upcoming Quibi series "Wolves and Villagers". Produced by Jason Blum and written by Stuart Blumberg ("The Kids Are All Right"), the short-form series has been described as "Fatal Attraction 2.0" by Quibi co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg. Exact plot details have not been released.

Watts, who is best known for "21 Grams", "The Ring", "King Kong" and "Mulholland Drive", was recently cast in a major role in the "Game of Thrones" prequel pilot at HBO. She is also set to play Gretchen Carlson in Showtime's upcoming Roger Ailes limited series.

Quibi, which is short for "quick bites", is a company that aims to create the ultimate mobile video content, and it has reportedly raised $1 billion from investors, including major studios like Warner Bros. and Disney. The company has more projects in the works that will involve filmmakers like Guillermo del Toro, Antoine Fuqua and Sam Raimi.
