Written and directed by Robin Swicord ("The Jane Austen Book Club") based on the short story of the same name by E. L. Doctorow, the drama "Wakefield" tells the story of a prestigious Manhattan lawyer (Bryan Cranston) who suffers a breakdown and hides out in the attic of his carriage house garage for several months, observing the lives of his wife (Jennifer Garner), children and neighbors.
The film also stars Beverly D'Angelo, Jason O'Mara, Ian Anthony Dale and Pippa Bennett-Warner.
"Wakefield" premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2016 and received a limited release in theaters on May 19th, 2017, followed by a release through video on demand on May 26th. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics.
