"Blinded by the Light" is a British dramedy directed by Gurinder Chadha ("Bend It Like Beckham") from a script co-written by Chadha alongside Sarfraz Manzoor and Paul Mayeda Berges ("Paris, je t'aime").
Inspired by Bruce Springsteen's music and based on Sarfraz Manzoor's memoir "Greetings from Bury Park: Race, Religion and Rock N’ Roll", the film is set in 1987 and it tells the story of a teenager (Viveik Kalra) who learns to live life, understand his family, and find his own voice through Springsteen's music. Hayley Atwell, Rob Brydon, Nell Williams, Aaron Phagura and Dean-Charles Chapman co-star.
"Blinded by the Light" premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was released in theaters on August 9, 2019 in the U.K. and on August 16th in the U.S.
