The romantic comedy "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser" is a modern retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac story set in high school. Directed by Ian Samuels from a script by Lindsey Beer, the film focuses on a case of mistaken identity that results in unexpected romance when the most popular girl (Kristine Froseth) in high school and the biggest loser (Shannon Purser) must come together to win over their crushes. RJ Cyler, Noah Centineo, Loretta Devine, Alan Ruck, Lea Thompson and Alice Lee co-star.
"Sierra Burgess Is a Loser" was released on September 7, 2018 via Netflix and received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics.
