The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced its nominations for the 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The long-running soap operas "Days of our Lives" (Peacock), "General Hospital" (ABC) and "The Young and the Restless" (CBS) were the only three nominated this year in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series category. Last year there were six shows nominated.
This year the Daytime Emmys include new categories: Outstanding Regional Content in a Daytime Genre, Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Program, Outstanding Culinary Instructional Series and Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series (formerly one category called Culinary Series), as well as Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program and Outstanding Nature and Science Program (formerly Outstanding Travel, Nature, and Adventure category).
Also, instead of a separate Creative Arts ceremony, the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held at a single ceremony this year on October 17th in Pasadena.
