The psychological horror film "The House That Jack Built" is writer/director Lars von Trier's latest project, and as usual, a controversial one. The film stars Matt Dillon as Jack, a highly intelligent serial killer, and it tells his story over the course of 12 years, as he recounts his elaborately orchestrated murders that defined his evolution as a serial killer. Uma Thurman, Bruno Ganz, Riley Keough, Siobahn Fallon Hogan, Jeremy Davies, Sofie Grabol and Jack McKenzie co-star.
"The House That Jack Built" premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, marking von Trier's return to the festival after more than six years. It opened in limited release in the U.S. and received mixed reviews from critics.
