"The 15:17 to Paris" is a fact-based drama directed by Clint Eastwood from a script written by Dorothy Blyskal based on the autobiography "The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Heroes" by Jeffrey E. Stern, Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler and Alek Skarlatos.

The film recounts the events that took place in 2015 when a Moroccan man opened fire aboard a Thalys train carrying 554 passengers on its way from Amsterdam to Paris. The attack was stopped by three courageous young Americans traveling through Europe. The three heroes, Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos, play themselves in the film, which follows their lives from the struggles of childhood through finding their footing in life, to the series of unlikely events leading up to the attack. Jenna Fischer, Judy Greer, Steve Coulter and Tony Hale also star.

"The 15:17 to Paris" opened in theaters on February 9, 2018 and received mostly negative reviews from critics, who mostly disagreed with Eastwood's casting of real-life individuals and the dullness of the background story surrounding the actual attack. However, some critics found a redeeming quality in just these elements, because the low-key cinema verite style makes it more fascinating and absorbing. The film grossed a decent $12.6 million in its opening weekend against a $30 million budget.
