The drama "The Hero" tells the story of an aging Western icon (Sam Elliott) who spends his days reliving old glories and smoking too much weed. A surprise cancer diagnosis acts as a rude awakening that brings his priorities into focus.
Co-written and directed by Brett Haley ("I'll See You in My Dreams"), the film also stars Laura Prepon, Nick Offerman, Krysten Ritter, Katharine Ross and Max Gail.
"The Hero" premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and opened in select theaters on June 9th. It received generally positive reviews.
