The second season of the dramedy series "The Politician" has premiered on June 19, 2020 on Netflix.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the series tells the story of Payton Hobart (Ben Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara who has grand political ambitions, and every season will revolve around a different political race his character is involved in.
The second season finds Payton, now a student at New York University, looking to unseat long-time New York State Senator Dede Standish (Judith Light). The show's cast also includes Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Laura Dreyfuss.
