Weekend Box Office Zootopia 2 Second Highest Grossing Film Of 2025%281%29

With no major new releases, "Zootopia 2" and "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" battled it out for the top spot at the box office. As the horror sequel suffered a steep decline from its opening weekend, it was ultimately overtaken by Disney's animated sequel, which continues to perform extremely well. Meanwhile, the dramedy "Ella McCay" starring Emma Mackey and Jamie Lee Curtis, and the horror remake "Silent Night, Deadly Night" both flopped.

The Shining 1997 Miniseries New On Bluray

Product Description: 110 Empty Hotel Rooms—Filled with Horror!

Jack Torrance (Steven Weber) and his family (Rebecca De Mornay and Courtland Mead) move into the sprawling, vacant Overlook Hotel to get away from it all. Away from the alcoholism that derails Jack's writing career. Away from the violent outbursts that mar Jack's past. But Jack's young son Danny knows better. He possesses a psychic gift called the shining—a gift the hotel's vile spirits desperately want.

In the hands of Stephen King, the "dead" Overlook comes horrifyingly alive. Phantoms lurk, the message "redrum" appears with scary frequency, and even the garden topiary lurches into macabre existence in this atmospheric shocker scripted by King from his own novel and directed by ace King adaptor Mick Garris (Sleepwalkers, The Stand).

"Doctor Sleep" is a horror film written and directed by Mike Flanagan ("Gerald's Game", "Oculus") based on Stephen King's 2013 novel of the same name. The book is a sequel to King's 1977 novel, and the film combines elements of the original novel and Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation.

Ewan McGregor stars as grown-up Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor), still haunted by what happened in his childhood, 40 years after the events in "The Shining". When Danny encounters Abra (Kyliegh Curran), a teenager who also possesses the supernatural abilities known as the "shine", he is forced to face his fears in order to help the girl against the merciless Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality. Carl Lumbly, Emily Alyn Lind, Zach McClarnon, Bruce Greenwood, Jacob Tremblay, Henry Thomas and Cliff Curtis co-star.

"Doctor Sleep" opened in theaters on November 8, 2019.

Ewan McGregor Photo
Ewan McGregor has signed on to star in the horror film "Doctor Sleep", the sequel to Stephen King's classic "The Shining". The film will be directed by Mike Flanagan ("Gerald's Game") for Warner Bros. The studio has been working hard to bring both this film and a prequel titled "Overlook Hotel" to the big screen for years, but thanks to the huge success of last year's "It", projects based on King's books are now being fast-tracked. The script for "Doctor Sleep" was originally penned by Akiva Goldsman, and rewritten by Flanagan.

McGregor will star as the adult version of Danny Torrence, the tortured kid with psychic powers who survived the Overlook Hotel tragedy and has grown up to become a reflection of his murderous father, filled with rage and a drinking problem that interferes with his "gift". When he embraces sobriety, his powers return and he establishes a psychic connection with a young girl who shares his extreme abilities, and who is being targeted by a group with similar abilities who have learned of a way to increase their own powers by killing others who have the power to shine.

McGregor can be seen this year in Disney's "Christopher Robin", a live-action adaptation of "Winnie the Pooh".
