The horror film "The Curse of La Llorona" is the sixth installment in the popular "The Conjuring" franchise. The film is directed by Michael Chaves from a script by Mikki Daughtry & Tobias Iaconis ("Five Feet Apart").

Based on the Mexican folklore of La Llorona, the ghost of a woman who drowned her children and now cries while looking for them, the film is set in 1970s Los Angeles and it follows a troubled mother (Patricia Velásquez) suspected of child endangerment, a social worker (Linda Cardellini) and her own small kids (Roman Christou and Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen), who are drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Raymond Cruz, Marisol Ramirez, Tony Amendola and Sean Patrick Thomas co-star.

"The Curse of La Llorona" opened in theaters on April 19, 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics.
