The historical drama "Underground" returns for a second season on WGN America tonight at 10p. Created by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, the show focuses on the Underground Railroad, a network of secret routes and safe houses used by African American slaves in the 19th century to escape into free states and Canada, with help from abolitionists and other allies.
The cast features Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, Christopher Meloni and Amirah Vann. Aisha Hinds joins the new season's cast as Harriet Tubman, an American abolitionist, and former slave, who saved aproximatively seventy enslaved families and friends using the Underground Railroad. Jasika Nicole, Michael Trotter and Jesse Luken are also joining the cast in recurring guest star roles.
