Baby Its You 1983 New On Bluray

Product Description: "There's the first one. There's the right one. And there's the one you never forget." Jill's a drama major, headed for college. Sheik's a drop-out, headed for nowhere. They're as different as day and night, but they share a powerful bond: first love. Rosanna Arquette (Desperately Seeking Susan), Vincent Spano (Over the Edge) and co-stars Tracy Pollan (Bright Lights, Big City), Matthew Modine (Birdy) and Robert Downey Jr. (Zodiac) team up in this memorable comedy-drama from filmmaker John Sayles (The Brother from Another Planet and The Return of the Secaucus Seven). Set against a '60s backdrop and an unbeatable soundtrack of classic rock and roll tunes, Baby It's You crafts a vivid portrait of young love in a complex era. But no matter when you went to school or first fell in love, Baby It's You is for you!

Working from an autobiographical story by producer Amy Robinson (Chilly Scenes of Winter and After Hours), Sayles approaches the material with an eye towards documentary-like realism and detail, so that this universal tale comes across with rare truth, poignancy and relatability. Made almost entirely in the Garden State, the film's hit-filled soundtrack is given a major shot in the arm via several songs by New Jersey's pre-eminent rock poet Bruce Springsteen and Hoboken-born Frank Sinatra. Boasting cinematography by renowned DP Michael Ballhaus (Goodfellas and The Marriage of Maria Braun), Baby It's You has been remastered from a new 4K scan of its original 35mm camera negative for this Blu-ray.

Its owner, Joe Rinaldi, feels pressure to torch the apartments to allow for the new development, backed by crooked Mayor Baci and policeman O'Brien. Joe's estranged son, Nick, soon becomes a pawn in the power politics of the city by virtue of a botched robbery. Following the arrest of two teenagers, idealistic city councilman Wynn finds himself torn between what he thinks is right, and what his Black constituents want.

Over The Edge 1979 New On Bluray

Product Description: Welcome to New Granada, the planned suburban paradise hailed as "tomorrow's city…today." But something's been left out of the plans. One quarter of the town's population is under the age of 15. And while the adults scramble to boost the resale value of New Granada's stores, offices, and condos, the kids are left to discover their own values—and come up with enough drugs, booze, and discontent to push themselves and the entire community Over the Edge. Filled with top-notch performances—including that of Matt Dillon in his screen debut—and backed by an anthemic soundtrack featuring Van Halen, Ramones, The Cars, and Cheap Trick, Over the Edge sounds an unforgettable warning to any society that makes no place for its children.

alphabet-city-1984-new-on-bluray

Product Description: Fun City Editions is a new boutique label focused on creating deluxe home video editions of maverick repertory cinema that can best be described as works that exist "outside of their time."

Johnny (Vincent Spano, Baby It's You and Over the Edge) controls the drug trade in New York's rough Alphabet City neighborhood - as long as his mob bosses let him. But, when he refuses to follow orders to torch the tenement building he grew up in, Johnny puts himself and his loved ones in their unforgiving crosshairs. No Wave filmmaker Amos Poe's (The Blank Generation and Subway Riders) neo-noir cult favorite oozes '80s neon-lit, punk-tinged style.

The innovative and vividly colorful visuals spring from the lens of cinematographer Oliver Wood (TV's Miami Vice, The Honeymoon Killers and Face/Off). Chic co-founder and dance music legend Nile Rodgers' supremely catchy synth-pop score propels the action. The cast of rising and veteran talents includes Kate Vernon (Pretty in Pink), Jami Gertz (Less Than Zero and The Lost Boys), Michael Winslow (the Police Academy series), Kenny Marino (Prince of the City and Death Wish 3) and Zohra Lampert (Let's Scare Jessica to Death and Splendor in the Grass).

Restored and available on Blu-ray for the first time, Alphabet City is an evocative cinematic snapshot of a New York City that has long since vanished.
