you-should-have-left-2020-new-on-dvd-and-bluray

Product Description: In a new psychological thriller from Blumhouse Productions and legendary screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Panic Room), Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried star as a couple seeking a restful vacation on an isolated edge of the world only to discover that secrets demand a reckoning … and travel with you. In this terrifying, mind-twisting tale, a father fights desperately to save his family from a beautiful home that refuses to let them leave. Theo Conroy (Bacon) is a successful middle-aged man whose marriage to his much younger actress wife, Susanna (Seyfried) is shredding at the seams, frayed by her secretiveness, his jealousy, and the shadow of his past. In an effort to repair their relationship, Theo and Susanna book a vacation at a stunning, remote modern home in the Welsh countryside for themselves and their six-year-old daughter, Ella (Avery Essex).

"You Should Have Left" is a psychological horror film written and directed by David Koepp ("Stir of Echoes") based on the 2017 book of the same name by Daniel Kehlmann. The film is executive produced by Jason Blum.

Kevin Bacon stars as Theo Conroy, a rich middle-aged retired banker, who takes his successful actress wife (Amanda Seyfried) and their six-year-old daughter (Avery Essex) to a secluded lavish villa in the Welsh countryside. What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a perfect nightmare when Theo's grasp on reality begins to unravel and he suspects that a sinister force within the house knows more than he or Susanna have revealed, even to each other.

"You Should Have Left" was originally intended for a theatrical release. It was instead released through Video On Demand on June 18, 2020.

Amanda Seyfried Photo
Amanda Seyfried ("Big Love", "Mamma Mia!") is set to join Kevin Bacon in the supernatural thriller "You Should Have Left".

The film will be directed by David Koepp ("Stir of Echoes", "Ghost Town") from his own script based on the novel of the same name written by Daniel Kehlmann. Jason Blum ("Get Out") will produce alongside Bacon.

Here's a synopsis of the book:
"A screenwriter, his wife, and their four-year old daughter rent a house in the mountains of Germany, but something isn’t right. As he toils on a sequel to his most successful movie, the screenwriter notices that rooms aren’t where he remembers them—and finds in his notebook words that are not his own."
Seyfried can also be seen in the sequel "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again", and is currently filming the dramedy "The Art of Racing in the Rain" directed by Simon Curtis ("My Week With Marilyn").
