"Black Summer" is a horror series created by John Hyams and Karl Schaefer as a prequel to the canceled Syfy show "Z Nation". Produced by The Asylum, the eight-episode first season follows a mother (Jaime King) who is separated from her daughter as a zombie apocalypse breaks out, and she embarks on a harrowing journey, stopping at nothing to find her. The cast also includes Justin Chu Cary, Kelsey Flowe, Gwynyth Walsh and Cristina Lee.
The first season of "Black Summer" was released by Netflix on April 11, 2019.
