Jason Momoa stars in the new Canadian series
"Frontier" that is set in the brutal world of the North American fur trade of the late 18th century.
Momoa stars as Declan Harp, a part-Irish, part-native American outlaw who runs the Black Wolf Company and seeks to destroy a rival company run by Lord Benton (
Alun Armstrong). To this end he enlists the help of a young man (
Landon Liboiron) to spy on Lord Benton.
Zoe Boyle, Evan Jonigkeit, Lyla Porter-Follows, Diana Bentley, Allan Hawco, Breanne Hill, Christian Mckay and
Michael Patric co-star.
The series is created by
Brad Peyton, Rob Blackie and
Peter Blackie and is co-produced by Discovery Channel and Netflix. This is the first original scripted series for Discovery. It has already been renewed for a second season.
All six episodes of
"Frontier" Season 1 are now available via Netflix everywhere, except Canada, where the series will be available on the streaming service in 2018, as per an exclusivity agreement.
