"Slanted" is a darkly comic body horror film written and directed by Amy Wang ("The Brothers Sun") that follows an insecure Chinese-American teenager (Shirley Chen), who undergoes experimental surgery to appear white, hoping to secure the prom queen title and peer acceptance. The cast also includes Mckenna Grace, Fang Du, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Amelie Zilber. The film premiered at the 2025 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, and was released in select theaters on March 13, 2026. On April 14th it was released via streaming.
