"A Vigilante" is a drama written and directed by Sarah Daggar-Nickson that stars Olivia Wilde as a once abused woman who devotes herself to ridding victims of their domestic abusers while hunting down the husband she must kill to truly be free. Morgan Spector, Tonye Patano and Jury Marte co-star.

"A Vigilante" premiered at the 2018 South by Southwest and opened in select theaters on March 29, 2019.

In Theaters: DUMBO, THE BEACH BUM, DIANE and A VIGILANTE

Disney has released its most recent live action remake, a loose retooling of their 1941 animated classic "Dumbo", which was based on a story written by Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl, and illustrated by Helen Durney for the prototype of a novelty toy ("Roll-a-Book"). You can read more about the story's origins here. Directed by Tim Burton, the new film has brought in $2.6 million from Thursday previews and it's expected to finish its opening weekend somewhere between $50 and $60 million from 4,259 theaters.

Another new semi-wide release is Harmony Korine's R-rated comedy "The Beach Bum" starring Matthew McConaughey, Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, Jimmy Buffett, Martin Lawrence and Jonah Hill. The film opened in over 1,000 theaters and is expected to gross around $3 million over the weekend.

Other limited releases to keep an eye out for are the indie dramas "Diane" starring Mary Kay Place", and "A Vigilante" starring Olivia Wilde.

• The new Boston-set crime series "City on a Hill" executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, based on an original idea by Affleck and series creator Chuck MacLean. The cast includes Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge.
• The documentary "The Biggest Little Farm" from Daytime Emmy-winning documentarian John Chester ("Super Soul Shorts: The Orphan & Worry for Maggie").
• The new installment in Netflix's "ReMastered" documentary series, titled "The Two Killings of Sam Cooke", which chronicles the life and career of soul singer and civil rights activist Sam Cooke.
