Disney has released its most recent live action remake, a loose retooling of their 1941 animated classic
"Dumbo", which was based on a story written by
Helen Aberson and
Harold Pearl, and illustrated by
Helen Durney for the prototype of a novelty toy ("Roll-a-Book"). You can

Tim Burton, the new film has brought in $2.6 million from Thursday previews and it's expected to finish its opening weekend somewhere between $50 and $60 million from 4,259 theaters.
Another new semi-wide release is
Harmony Korine's R-rated comedy
"The Beach Bum" starring
Matthew McConaughey,
Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, Jimmy Buffett, Martin Lawrence and
Jonah Hill. The film opened in over 1,000 theaters and is expected to gross around $3 million over the weekend.
Other limited releases to keep an eye out for are the indie dramas
"Diane" starring
Mary Kay Place", and
"A Vigilante" starring
Olivia Wilde.
