"Arsenal" is a thriller from director
Steven C. Miller whose resume includes VOD films like
"Marauders" and
"Extraction". The film stars
Adrian Grenier as the owner of a construction company who must rescue his mobster brother (
Johnathon Schaech) who was kidnapped by ruthless crime boss Eddie King (
Nicolas Cage). In his quest for vengeance, he also enlists the help of his brother's friend Sal (
John Cusack), a plain clothes detective.
The strange thing about this movie is that it's actually a sequel to the 1993 thriller
"Deadfall", which was directed by
Christopher Coppola, Cages's brother. That film also starred Cage as an excentric wig-wearing character named Eddie. Why anyone would want to make a sequel to that film, is a big mystery to me, but maybe it has a cult following I don't know about.
The cast also includes
Christopher Coppola, Megan Leonard, Christopher Rob Bowen, Tyler Jon Olson and
Shea Buckner.
"Arsenal" will be released in select theaters and VOD on January 6, 2017.
